PATA Honda's Leon Haslam took a step closer to a return to racing on Tuesday after visiting the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham to have the stitches removed from his left leg, broken in a practice crash at Assen, Holland on April 26.
"The surgeon was happy that the bone was healing and the stitches were removed without any drama," reported Haslam. "The surgeon said the bone has healed well after the steel pin was inserted and only the swelling in my ankle and knee are the problems we need to address now.
